Tessa and her parents live with me. It is neat every morning and every night she comes in my room to give me a kiss. I had the opportunity to participate in her blessing at church. When Chris first brought her up to the front of the chapel she was somewhat fussy and ready to show her disapproval. But, to my amazement, when we in the circle took her in our hands she clammed down to a place I don't see her except in her sleep. Her little spirit spoke to me and I will never forget that moment.
I love my grand children so much. They are the light in an old man's life that has been through some trials.

My boys and weights

First, jump rope, he can speed jump which
is great for a young man

Next real good push ups

Pull ups, which most of us could not do

You can tell from his face it isn't hard for him at all!

Next deep dips which are also very hard

Fore arm weight roll

My little boy is pushing some real weight

But more important to him, he is the kids friend

4 plates, 405 pounds
Should have been an offensive lineman

Zions is pretty, but, family is better
There was a lot of water in the river. Porter was the only one
getting real close. Carter didn't want to jump in the river
if someone fell in.

Cooper's favorite thing is to pick up sticks
If you don't believe that, look at the back of Grandpa's truck

Hutch loved to climb trees and is not a ham!

This is a picture from the pool. The hotel is called the Majestic
View Lodge. Not sure why they call it that?

The boys loved the pool, play, jump and swim
Hutch

Porter, Mr. Graceful

Cooper, Mr. Stud

These three boys love each other

The family picture. Hard to get them all to
pose at same time.

Of course, getting them to pose isn't always that hard.

The reason we went to Zions was for Tammi's run
in the 10K. She did great! Didn't get a good picture
of why Carter went, sleeping.

Zions is great, but the best is being with anyone in my
family and enjoying time together. This old man
lives for that.

My Sister Sue.

This is my sister Sue with the youngest, Tessa. I remember a lot about my sister and I growing up. She is 4 years older so she was the boss most of the time when we were young. She excelled in school, but, as so many young women she was very much a soc. I remember the boys with the hot rods and fast cars. It was a lot like the movie Grease. We had a lot of fun in our little house in Highland Park. Sue always had a lot of girl friends and, it seemed like, a lot of boys hanging around. She and her friends would at times slap me into submission not to tell Mom and Dad with the promise of 3 Musketeer candy bars to shut me up. I am still waiting for that pay off.
But, the pay off did come in many other ways. I never have doubted Sue's love and devotion to me and her family. I remember after she graduated from High School at the age of 16 she went to BYU. That was a little too much freedom in a social environment. She came home and got a job and I still remember when she got paid she always seemed to have a present for me. That might seem trivial, but, to a younger brother that was something special. She married a 57 Chevy with a 327 engine. They had some great children who with their mothers example are all doing well.
Sue has always been a very hard worker and a great provider for her children. As we all do, she had some bumps in her life, but as we both reach those latter years in our lives, I honestly can say she did all she could giving all she had to those who are most important to her, her family.
Now it is her grandchildren who have that special experience of such a loving and caring grandmother. Sue now has cancer and like she has always done, she moves forward, always more concerned about others than herself.
Sue, I love you with all my heart, your little brother Rick.
